Christian's academic and work history reflect a strong interest in aboriginal law, human rights, and administrative law issues. Prior to joining Ng Ariss Fong, Christian worked as a student researcher with the Poverty and Human Rights Centre. During this time, he assisted in the preparation of an intervener factum for use in the Supreme Court of Canada's recent hearing of R. v. Caron. He also assisted with a submission to the UN Committee on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) entitled "Nothing to Report", which addressed the issues of missing and murdered aboriginal women and women's poverty in Canada. In addition, Christian has worked with the Community Legal Assistance Society in performing research regarding the protection of human sexuality under the B.C. Human Rights Code.
In addition to his experience with the legal dimension of human rights, Christian has also pursued projects outside the law that reflect this passion. In 2009, Christian participated in a voluntary diversity audit of programming selections for the Toronto International Film Festival. Christian also acted as an administrative assistant for the authors of Dancing on Live Embers: Challenging Racism in Organizations, which received an Outstanding Book Award from the Gustavus Myers Centre for the Study of Bigotry and Human Rights.
Christian has studied French from a very young age, and in 2010, he was selected to represent UBC at the bilingual Laskin Memorial Moot.
