Professional Regulation Conference: Vancouver Convention Centre, November 15, 2013
Frequently Asked Questions About the Conference
Q: I am a regulator from another province and different legislation applies to me. Will the conference deal with topics in a way that takes into account the different legislation of out-of-province regulators?
A: Yes. As with all of our conferences, we gear the materials to our attendees. At this time, we have regulators attending from British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba and the Yukon.
Q: Is there a group rate available for the conference?
A: There is a table rate. A table seats eight people, and at the group rate, it will be sold for the price of six seats. At the early bird rate, which is available if registering before Friday, October 4, 2013, the cost of a table is $3600.00.
Currently, there is only one table still available at the group rate. If your college or organization is interested in purchasing a table at the table rate, please contact Lisa Fong (lisa@ngariss.com) or Osiris Buendia (osiris@ngariss.com) as soon as possible.
Q: Is there a group rate available for accommodations?
A: Both the Fairmont Waterfront and the Fairmont Pacific Rim, located near the Vancouver Convention Centre, offer government rates for persons with government I.D. cards. If you are unsure as to whether your college or organization qualifies for the government rate, or need help coordinating accommodations, please contact Lisa Fong (lisa@ngariss.com) or Osiris Buendia (osiris@ngariss.com).
Q: I am a regulator from another province. Will there be a webinar option available?
A: It is very likely that there will be a webinar service offered. While the conference is geared for in-person attendees, due to the live demonstrations and opportunities for participation, a webinar service will be available as an option for out-of-province regulators. We are currently working on obtaining the two technicians needed to offer a webinar service at the Vancouver Convention Centre so that regulators from outside of the province can attend. Once we are able to obtain the two technicians, we will contact out-of-province regulators who have expressed an interest in the webinar.
If you are an out-of-province regulator who has not yet contacted us regarding the webinar option and you would like to attend by webinar, please email confirmation of your attendance by webinar (if offered) to Lisa Fong (lisa@ngariss.com) or Osiris Buendia (osiris@ngariss.com) as soon as possible.
